How to get to MRT station from Changi Airport?

To pick up the train, you can approach by foot from Terminal 2 or 3 to the train station, since it is located at the basement of Terminal 2. From Terminal 1 you can pick up the SkyTrain which connects to Terminal 1. It won’t take much more than 15 minutes.

You need to follow the signs “Train to the city” to reach to the station.

MRT opening hours are from 6 am to 00 am daily.

Singapore Changi Airport to city center

If you wish to go from Singapore Changi Airport to the city center, you need to transfer to Westwood Train at Tanah Merah station.

Once you get to Tanah Merah, take off the train on the left side and cross the platform to wait for the city center transfer.

Last train leaves from Tanah Merah station to the city center at 11.18 pm.

The trip from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah normally takes 6 minutes.

From Tanah Merah to the city center it can take approximately between 25 and 30 minutes.

How to purchase your ticket?

You can purchase your ticket on the touching screen. Once you got it, you can proceed to take on the train.

City center to Singapore Changi Airport

Instead, if you would like to go from the city center to Changi Airport, then you need to transfer to Eastbound train at Tanah Merah Station.

To get back you have to transfer from Tanah Merah Station and take off on Terminal 2 stop and you can pick up SkyTrain if you wish to go to other terminal.

Departure: Every 10 – 20 minutes.

Schedule hours for this line are from 5.26 am Monday to Saturday, and 5.54 am on Sundays and public holidays.

Tariffs

According to your needs and preferences, there are two different kinds of ticket:

- Standard ticket: A contactless card usable for single and return trips. You can purchase it in General Ticket Machines at MRT station. Just let you know they’re only available by paying with only cash. It can be used 6 times within 30 days from purchase date, so it is ideal if you’re going to stay for a long time to Singapore.

Costs

Adult single ticket price per ride: $1.16. The total cost for a ride to the city center is $2.80 including an extra $1 for the card. Also, with the purchase price, it is included a 10 cents deposit which is automatically refunded on the third trip.

- EZLink card: In this case, it will let you ride several times on trains and buses depending on the stored value in the card. You can purchase them at TransitLink Ticket offices, 7-Eleven and SingPost outlets.

Costs

Their value can vary on $12, $10 and $5 (this last one is not refundable).

Before being able to use them, you will have to buy Top-Up cards from SingPost outlets.

It is the ideal choice if you stay for some days in Singapore since It is valid for 5 years, so you can come several times before it passes away.
