Singapore Airport – Terminal 2

The Terminal 2 of Singapore Changi Airport opened in 1990, forming an adjacent building to Terminal 1 towards the south. Flights that use this terminal departs to Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Indian Subcontinent. 

It is also temporary used by local and low-cost carriers since the former Budget Terminal was demolished in 2011 in order to gain space to build Terminal 4.  When Terminal 4 will be finished, local and low-cost airline services will be redirected to T4.

Transport between terminals

Nearby the ‘Guardian Health’ place (on the west part of the facilities) you can find the SkyTrain connections with T1 & T3.

You can use the free bus service while SkyTrain is closed down. In Terminal 2 it is located at Arrival Hall Level 1 Door 2. Opening hours are from 2.30 am to 5.00 am. Departure time is of 15 minutes.


Terminal 2 has 35 air bridges, 6 are for large aircraft. It is composed by 6 different levels, containing Departures Check-in Hall, Departure Transit Lounge on level 2, Departure Transit Lounge on level 3 and Airline Lounges:

- Departure Check-in Hall: There are the check-in rows 1-12, Departure immigration points (2).
- Departure Transit Lounge level 2: In this level, you can find the following amenities and services: food, drink and retail stores. There’s also the access to gates E1, 10 & E12 (south), E20 &28 (east), and to gates F30, 33, 37, 40, 42 & F42 (south) and F50 & 60 (west).
- Departure Transit Lounge level 3: Airline lounges, entertainment sector, i-Connect and the sunflower garden.

Advice for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir

In this deck, if you are a passenger of Singapore or SilkAir, you can use the automated check-in kiosks to avoid queues (Fast & Seamless Travel).

The passengers who have check-in bags should first get the boarding pass and the baggage tag in the same kiosks and later, drop their bags at the habilitated counter.

On the other hand, passengers without check-in bags and online check-in should just print their boarding pass and head to Immigration located in the Departure Check-in Hall.

- City Sightseeing: You can jump in the Singapore City Sightseeing bus and discover Singapore city. There’s a bus every 15 minutes from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm. Bus tickets can be purchased at the counters located in T2 and T3.

- Free Singapore tour: If you just have at least 6 hours until your connected flight, you can enjoy of a guided tour through Singapore city. Changi Airport has a 3-level Car Park in Terminal 2, locations as it follows:
Level 1: Nearby SIA Singapore Stopover Counter, Level 1M: Car Park Exit, Level 2: Beside Car Park Booth, Level 2M: Car Park Exit, Level 3: Lift Lobby for lifts 9, 10, 11. Fares are $0.04 / min from 00.00 am to 00.00 am of the following day.

Since it latest upgrade, the terminal has gained more light and free space from restaurants and bars, which let gardens and glass sculptures grew in the building facilities, as the Enchanted Garden, the Orchid Garden and the Sunflower Garden.
